It's more than a picture, it's a memory

My love for photography started when I was 6 after attending a wilderness photography class for children in Yosemite. Using disposable cameras, I was excited to see what I had captured come to life.

It wasn't until I attended university that I was first introduced to professional photography equipment. I learned the ins and outs of photography, and purchased my first professional camera shortly after graduation.

I formally started my photography business in 2015, and have done numerous weddings and portraits all over the country. I restarted Maya Isabella Photography again when I moved to the borderland in 2021, and now do this full-time. I love dedicating my art to so many couples. My photography equipment includes multiple cameras, multiple lenses, professional flash equipment and a drone; all tools to capture truly unique wedding days.

Currently based in El Paso, Texas, I value storytelling, speckled artistry, and capturing genuine emotion. I strive to have your photos bring back the emotion you felt during your ceremony, as well as the energy of the dance floor. Sometimes that means taking a fly-on-the-wall approach to much of your day, and still being there to direct you when appropriate so that you don't ever wonder what to do with your hands. Whatever your photography needs are, I am honored to be a part of it and look forward to meeting you.

Quick things about me:

  • I love my family! My husband and children are my world and I am so grateful to have them by my side. When you hire me you are helping us out so thank you!

  • I was born in California, and raised in Mexico City. I've also lived in New Zealand and Cape Verde. No matter where I am, I strive to find beauty in every landscape and people.

  • Fluent in Spanish and rusty in Portuguese. I love speaking both, when given the chance.

  • I LOVE dancing, especially cumbia, merengue, and bachata.

  • Huge fan of Thai food and tacos al pastor.

  • Tennis and basketball are my favorite sports, but after three knee injuries I've started shooting photos more than anything else.

  • I'm always excited to meet new people and make more friends
